GMSに入社した理由を教えてください/Tell us what made you join GMS.

Throughout my schooling, while I knew that academics were only my primary area of investment, I loved to participate in school clubs. I proceeded with the belief that I would eventually position myself to achieve cross-cultural immersion. I was an active member of international student organization that called AIESEC where I was able to practice leadership in preparation for my journey into the corporate domain, and also expand my understanding of different cultures while learning about the social issues that exist in different parts of the globe. Through AIESEC, I have built an interest in community welfare and the ability to express myself with clarity. Majoring in Accounting, I entered an internship in a Management Consultant in Japan. The Japanese work ethic was truly inspiring to behold, and the orderliness of society in the country spoke to me. Since then, I started my interest to Japanese work culture. Thus, when I returned to my home country, I took up the role of a Consultant in a Japan-based consulting company, then spent 5 years as Finance Accounting and Business Development in a giant Japanese security company and several years as Financial Analyst in American-based company. Those working experience had boost my skills in both administrative and business perspective. In 2019 when I start working in GMS Indonesia, first thing in my mind was that I can support the company with my skills-set which can be a good hand for a start-up company like GMS. Especially I saw GMS has a good vision and mission. In Indonesia, beside the fintech service for low income people, GMS also provide a low cost rental system for taxi drivers. By supporting the fintech and rental car for taxi drivers, GMS Indonesia has provided a job opportunity for those low-income people and give economic sustainability for the driver’s family.

学生時代はもちろん学業を第１優先にしながらも、部活動に力を入れていました。 私は、AIESEC という国際学生団体で積極的に活動し、仕事でも重要となってくるリーダーシップについて学ぶことが出来ました。また、国内・外の様々な地域に存在する社会問題について学びながら、異文化への理解を広げることができました。 AIESECを通じて、私は地域福祉への関心を広げ、自分の考えを明確に表現する能力を身につけました。 大学での専攻は会計学でした。在学中に日本の経営コンサルでのインターンシップに参加しました。日本人の働き方は本当に感動的で、日本という国の秩序保たれた様子に感銘を受けました。 それから私は日本でのような働き方をすることに強く関心を持ち始めました。そして、インドネシアに帰国後、日本を拠点とするコンサルティング会社でコンサルの仕事をしたり、日本の大きな証券会社で財務会計及び事業開発として5年間勤めました。また、アメリカで数年間財務アナリストをしたこともあります。管理・事業両方共のスキルを身に着けてきました。 2019年、GMSのインドネシア法人で働き始めたとき、私が培ってきたスキルでスタートアップ企業をサポートできることにやりがいを感じました。特にGMSのビジョンとミッションには深く感動しました。インドネシア法人は、低所得層向けのFinTechサービスに加え、タクシー運転手向けの低価格レンタカーサービスを提供し、低所得層に雇用機会を提供し、ドライバーの家族の可能性を広げてきました。

今の仕事内容とやりがいを教えてください/ Tell us about your current job and how rewarding it is.

Since I joined GMS Headquarters in 2023, I work closely with all the subsidiaries especially in accounting side. I faced some difficulties in proceeding with accounting work. By analysing procedures across all company divisions, I isolated the loophole in our subsidiaries. Currently try to manage the subsidiaries accounting workflow, work closely with the team to understand their obstacles and what kind of system they wished to utilize, while also preparing the project framework and timeline. Following the analysis and workflow upheaval, hopefully the financial reports can be presented in a more accurate fashion and enabled better executive decision-making. I have always been interested in how businesses operate and how they can be improved. Working in management strategy department in GMS Hedquarters seemed like the combination of my interests, skills and experiences. I enjoy working with data and analysist, to identify key issues and give insights to management in order to make better decisions. I also like working with people and helping them to understand the data, recommending strategies, and monitoring progress. This role allows me to have a direct impact on an organization's success. It is both challenging and gratifying to be able to help organizations reach their goals.

2023年に本社に異動してからは、すべての子会社の財務面のサポートをしています。部門・国ごととそれぞれの事情により、これまで管理が難しい状況がありました。 そのような状況下で会社の全ての部門にわたる管理における手順を分析し、現在は各現地法人の会計ワークフローを管理しています。チームと密に連携して、プロジェクトの枠組みとスケジュールを準備しています。 私はビジネスがどのように運営されて、どのように改善されるかに興味がありました。本社の経営戦略部門で働くことは、私の興味に合致するところで、スキルと経験をフルに生かすことができると思っています。データと分析を活用しながら重要な課題に対して、よりよい意思決定が行われるように経営陣に必要な情報を提供することがとても面白いと思っています。また、人と協力してデータを紐解いていったり、戦略を提案・進捗の管理等、手助けをすることもとても好きです。会社としての目標を達成していくことは面白く、非常にやりがいがあると感じています。

これから挑戦してみたいことを教えてください/ What would you like to try in the future?

I wish that my employment in GMS Headquarters, makes me able to see the big picture of the company and understand how different pieces of the puzzle can fit together. Moreover, hope that I can hone my problem-solving skills, think more critically and analytically. In addition, I want to have excellent communication with all subsidiaries and GMS Headquarters employees. Since I am not a Japanese speaker, now I keep learning and keeping up with the Japanese study and hopefully in the near future I am able talk with my colleagues in Japanese.

本社に異動になったことで、会社の全体像が見え、様々な事象がいかに組み合わさっているかを理解できるようになれば良いなと思っています。課題解決スキルや批判的・分析的思考を磨いていきたいです。 また、本社・現地法人すべての社員と良いコミュニケーションを取ることが出来ればと思っており、今は日本語が話せませんが、勉強をつづけ、いつかは日本語でも社員と話すことが出来ればよいなと考えています
